The Lasses are coming off the back of their second win of the season after beating Ipswich Town Women 4-1 last weekend, extending their unbeaten run in the league to three games.
Ditchburn spoke about welcoming Jemma Purfield back into the matchday squad last weekend after making her debut, as well as the role United's travelling fans can play on Sunday.
Here are the interim manager's thoughts ahead of Sunday's game:
On reflecting on last weekend’s away win…
"We delved into the performance. There were parts that we were pleased with and other parts we knew there was room for improvement, and that's what we've looked to work on this week in training and focused on."
On Purfield's debut and Elysia Boddy's second successive start…
"It's been really nice welcoming fresh faces back into the squad, and it's really nice for them as humans because we know the tough road they've gone through when injured.
"For me as a coach, it's fantastic to welcome them back in as players because they strengthen us so much, and they've been much-welcomed additions back into the squad."
On how she wants the team to approach Sunday's match…
"It's important that we accept that it will have an extra little bit of spice to it, and we welcome that.
"But ultimately, it's another game of football and another potential three points, which is the overarching view we'll take into Sunday."
On the role Newcastle's fans can play at Maiden Castle…
"Hopefully, they can make their presence known, and I have no doubt that they will. It will spur us on.
"It’s going to be feisty, and we hope so, so I know the fans will play a massive part in that, and we'll be looking to make them proud."
