Clash of the in-form sides: matchday 6 of the Icon League awaits

After yesterday's matchday, the teams of the Icon League have to get back into action immediately – another double matchday is on the agenda. This allows for significant leaps in the standings, but after a defeat, it can be even harder to turn things around today.

Currently, Berlin City has no problem with defeats. The Berliners are unbeaten for twelve games across seasons, and there is no end to this series in sight. The individual talents are too strong, and under the leadership of Garrit Golombeck, they also function brilliantly as a unit.

The second strongest team in the Icon League is The Pack. After their initial defeat against OneFootball, they have won every game since. Simon Terodde's squad has stabilized and acts as a true collective. The individual class is undisputed, but in past seasons, The Pack often fell short of their potential. With numerous ex-professionals, they always had big names but lacked consistency on the field.

Now, with strong new additions like Stefan Winkel and Christian Derflinger, the squad seems broader, and the team delivers more consistent performances. If they confirm this stability in the upcoming games, they clearly count among the top-3 title contenders.

Today, the two most in-form teams face each other – and one streak will break. Whoever ends up victorious underlines their title ambitions and solidifies their place in the top group.

We can expect a real thriller, one that is hard to surpass in terms of individual class.

The third team currently shining with impressive performances is DNA Athletics. Niklas Sommer's team is in second place in the standings and has only lost one game so far – and that was in overtime.

Now they face the Berlin Underdogs, who, despite many notable departures, had a strong start to the season. They won twice and only narrowly lost on the third matchday against Berlin City. However, they then suffered three consecutive defeats – since then, they have been waiting for a point.

Now they aim for a turnaround. The quality is there, but with DNA, a strong opponent awaits who will demand everything from the Underdogs.

The last victory for the Underdogs was against FC OneFootball, who won their last two matches in overtime. Both were close games where Marc Müller's team managed to equalize shortly before the final whistle. The golden goals in extra time were absolute highlights – but Müller would probably welcome a commanding victory in regular time again.
