According to Al-Riyadiah, the Saudi Roshn League is preparing fixture changes as the national team readies for the Arabian Gulf Cup, with the 17 September round featuring Al-Hilal against Al-Ittihad expected to be postponed.
Saudi Arabia will host the 27th edition in Jeddah from 23 September to 6 October.
The tournament build-up has prompted national-team technical director Georgios Donis to request an extra seven days of camp, a move that would force widespread adjustments to the league calendar.
The amendments would affect more than one matchweek, with the clásico at Kingdom Arena among the headline fixtures at risk.
Donis is seeking the best possible preparation as he aims to end a 23-year wait for the title, Saudi Arabia having last lifted the cup in 2003.
He took charge before the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, where Saudi Arabia exited at the group stage, finishing bottom of the eighth group with only two points.
