Claudio Úbeda says he is working to reintegrate Kevin Zenón after the Boca midfielder slipped out of contention, adding the 24-year-old is improving day by day.

"Kevin is a player with very good attributes. He strikes the ball well, he is technical and quick. There are things we have discussed personally about what he must improve to compete on equal terms again, and he is trying," Úbeda said to Radio La Red.

Boca are 13 games unbeaten after a 1-0 Superclásico win at River. They lead Libertadores Group D, pursue first in Apertura Zone A and sit in the Copa Argentina last 32.

Zenón has lost ground and has often missed out on the bench. He last featured on 28 February, playing 37 minutes against Gimnasia de Mendoza, and he travelled for the Superclásico alongside Edinson Cavani and Agustín Marchesín, who could not play.

The former Unión man will return to the matchday squad for Thursday’s trip to Defensa y Justicia in round 16 of the Torneo Apertura, 20:00 kick-off at the Norberto Tito Tomaghello, Andrés Gariano referees.

Most of those who visited the Monumental are retained, though the starting side will rotate, as against Talleres and Independiente. Camilo Rey Domenech drops out to play Wednesday’s reserve Superclásico at Boca Predio.

"I see him improving day by day, he wants to get into the group and make life harder for us, and that is good. Our job is to push players and get the most out of them," Úbeda added.
