Claudio Úbeda voiced concern after Boca Juniors were held to a goalless home draw by Platense in Zona A, matchday five of the Torneo Apertura, days after losing to Vélez.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, several players and the head coach, Sifón, were whistled by most in the stands when the line-up was announced, a clear show of frustration at recent displays.

Under growing scrutiny, Úbeda said the team’s level worries him and that they urgently need to improve their functioning, adding that they work every week and their obligation is always to win.

Boca created chances, particularly after the break. Gonzalo Gelini headed over, and the coach felt his side did not suffer defensively aside from a deflection that hit the post. He said they tried different attacking options to add depth but could not convert.

Attention now turns to Racing, who visit La Bombonera on Friday at 20:00. Úbeda said they have to beat Racing and must show they are in a position to win that match.

There was some relief with returns from injury as Lucas Janson and Edinson Cavani featured, while Miguel Merentiel had come back against Vélez. Úbeda urged patience, noting his forwards are regaining rhythm and that goals should follow, adding Janson looked sharp in training and created chances after coming on.
