Shortly before the Champions League clash with FC Arsenal, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has reacted to the latest speculation surrounding Harry Kane. There had been speculation in Spain about an alleged interest from FC Barcelona – but in Munich the rumours are not seen as spectacular. Eberl made it clear that neither the club nor the striker himself currently see any cause for concern.

The reports in Mundo Deportivo, according to which Harry Kane is Barcelona’s top target in the event of Robert Lewandowski’s departure, are not causing any nervousness at FC Bayern. Eberl made it clear: „To be honest, I have registered it, but no more and no less.“

Instead, the sporting director emphasized that a clear plan has long been in place for Bayern: „We have a timetable with Harry that we have said we will sit down at the beginning of the year.“ The contract talks should therefore begin soon – without pressure, without external interference.

Kane himself completely relaxed – „I feel very comfortable“

The superstar himself also calmly dismissed the rumours, telling BILD : „I haven’t been in contact with anyone, nobody has contacted me. I feel very comfortable in the current situation, even though we haven’t spoken to Bayern about my situation either.“

At the pre-match press conference ahead of the CL clash against Arsenal, the striker was very clear about his commitment to the German record champions: „This transfer was one of the best decisions of my life. I’ve enjoyed every moment: the new league, the European Cup nights, the Bundesliga, the different cultures, it’s helped me to develop and improve. I’m open to staying at Bayern for longer. We’re one of the best teams in Europe, there’s no other team I want to go to,“ explained the goalscorer.

Kane’s absolute composure can also be explained by his sporting form. Eberl believes the Englishman is currently at an outstanding level: „He’s in the form of his life. Now we’re all keeping our fingers crossed that he plays a part in the Ballon d’Or.“

Bayern have no fear – and a clear plan

The sporting director is particularly impressed by Kane’s versatility, saying that he is „practically a playing goalkeeper“, a striker „who is also not too shy to play his part in defense“.

A description that captures the essence of Kane’s performances this season. Not only does he score reliably, he also gets deeply involved in the game, works with the team and provides structure – making him more important than ever under Vincent Kompany.

The message from Munich is clear: neither the reports from Spain nor possible enticements from other clubs are unsettling the record champions. Eberl sees „no worry lines“ and is counting on Kane’s willingness to continue on his path at Bayern.
