Clément Lenglet expected to leave Atlético Madrid

Atlético Madrid are reportedly looking to offload Clément Lenglet (30) this summer, according to Cadena SER.

Having made just 24 appearances in all competitions this season (21 starts), the French defender no longer seems to feature in Diego Simeone’s plans. Originally arriving at Atlético on loan from FC Barcelona in the summer of 2024, he signed a permanent contract last summer on a free transfer.

But although his situation now appears to be becoming more complicated, Lenglet himself is reportedly not considering leaving the Colchoneros at this stage, as his contract runs until June 2028. While he is not entirely opposed to a move, the French international, who has 16 caps (one goal), would naturally want to secure a fair financial deal.

This will be no easy task, given the salary he currently earns in Madrid (around €7 million a year), which is difficult for most potential suitors to match.
