Clément Turpin will take charge of Bosnia and Herzegovina v Italy in Tuesday’s European play-off final, which decides a place at the 2026 World Cup.
According to L'Équipe, UEFA has selected the 43-year-old French referee for the match in Zenica.
The winners will qualify for the tournament, scheduled from 11 June to 19 July, and join Group B with Canada, Qatar and Switzerland.
Turpin also oversaw Italy’s defeat by North Macedonia in March 2022, when a last-gasp goal ended Italy’s World Cup hopes in the semi-final.
He has never officiated a Bosnia and Herzegovina fixture, and has refereed Italy five times internationally, with three wins and two defeats for the Italians.
