Grace Clinton has heaped praise on her City team-mates and says she’s loving life playing alongside them.

The midfielder was a standout performer in the Blues’ 5-1 League Cup quarter-final win over West Ham, grabbing one goal and one assist at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

All of City’s front four got themselves on the scoresheet in our final game of 2025, as Kerolin opening the scoring, Clinton set up Lauren Hemp and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw headed home our fourth.

And our number six says that sort of fluid football is made possible by having versatile and adaptable team-mates who she can bring the best out of, and vice versa.

“It’s so enjoyable when you play around people with so many different strengths,” she said.

“I know I can pass to feet or behind, but the man thing is we create space for each other.

“Sometimes you might have loads of space to turn and get on the ball or you might create it for them.

“It just really flows and is really enjoyable to play in.”

It’s been a special end to 2025 for City, who sign off with a 14-match unbeaten run and ten successive WSL wins.

The Blues are top of the WSL table and now also have a League Cup semi-final tie to look forward to in January against Chelsea; a repeat of last season’s final.

Clinton, a summer signing from Manchester United, has also enjoyed plenty of success on the international stage as part of the England squad who were crowned European Champions this summer.

But while the midfielder looks back fondly on 2025, she’s excited to see how much she and City can grow and achieve in the new year.

She reflected: “It’s been a very enjoyable season so far but we’re always looking forward and having meetings to prepare for what might come up.

“It seems like a very good mentality in the group at the minute and everyone is wanting to win.”

“It’s been a crazy 2025, a lot of personal growth and learnings for me and success.

“But I’m just hungry for more, to help this City side progress and do the best we can. I’m very excited looking to the future.”
