Arsenal reached the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup semi-finals with a 4-0 victory away to London City Lionesses, played in front of a sell-out crowd.
The Championship side repelled waves of attacks from the Gunners, until a 38th-minute Katie McCabe corner was headed back into the goalmouth by Stina Blackstenius, where Cloe Lacasse applied the finish.
It was 2-0 in first-half added time after Emma Mukandi’s stray pass let in Blackstenius, Grace Moloney was adjudged to have taken her down and Kim Little confidently converted the penalty.
Lacasse curled in her second before the hour mark and Alessia Russo came off the bench to swiftly find the net with a header.
