Xavier Budó will be the new high-performance sporting director at Club América, part of an ongoing restructuring after Atlantic Group bought 49 percent of the club.

According to Americayya.net, the first move came early in the year when Diego Ramírez left his long-held sporting director post, having previously started in the women’s set-up before moving to the first team.

A few months later, Ferran Reverter arrived as director general of Grupo Águilas, taking charge of the institution and Estadio Banorte.

Soon after, Héctor González Iñárritú departed his role as president of operations, one of Reverter’s first decisions as director general.

Budó’s brief is to embed a high-performance culture across the men’s and women’s teams, and to devise a strategic plan that includes a new training complex.

Emilio Azcárraga remains the majority owner with 51 percent, with Atlantic Group holding 49.

Below Azcárraga sits Carlos Barcel as his right-hand figure, while on the Group Atlantic side is Ferran Reverter.

Santiago Baños continues as club president, alongside sporting director Antonio Ibrahim and now Xavier Budó as director general deportivo.

No successor has yet been identified for the position vacated by Héctor González Iñárritú.
