According to HNB, Club Brugge are hoping to convince German midfielder Yannik Engelhardt to join them from Como. Having seen Aleksandar Stankovic return to Italy and re-join Inter, Club Brugge are keen for Engelhardt to be his replacement. The former Fortuna Dusseldorf midfielder spent last season on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach and is said to have a number of options with just one more season left on his Como contract.

Engelhardt began his career with Werder Bremen, but never made a first team appearance for the club. In 2021 he joined Freiburg, but again just ended up playing for the second team. After two seasons he joined Fortuna Dusseldorf and became a key player during the 2023/2024 season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 37 games. Como snapped him up in the summer of 2024, making 26 appearances with one goal and one assist. With limited opportunities to play, Engelhardt was loaned out to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. He played 33 games for Borussia Mönchengladbach, with two goals and two assists.
