Club Brugge secures talent of Egyptian descent

Club Brugge has announced the contract extension of Mohamed Galal Elbay, the young talent developed in the club’s academy, through to 2029.

Mohamed Galal Elbay, just 17 years old, is a central defender who came up through the ranks and training of the Belgian side. He has emerged as one of the standout prospects of his cohort, featuring for both the NXT U18 squad and making appearances in the Challenger Pro League.

Staying true to their philosophy of nurturing young talent, the blue and black have moved swiftly to secure the future of the player with Egyptian roots. The club’s statement read: “Since 2022, he has progressed through the youth teams at NXT, and this season, he joined the U23 squad. In August, Elbay made his professional debut in the Challenger Pro League against Young Genk.”

Africa Foot reveals that Mohamed Galal Elbay has signed a personal contract and will earn an annual salary of around $50,000. Elbay has already made three appearances for Belgium’s U18 national team.
