Club Empleados de Comercio began pre-season at the 26 de Septiembre stadium in Trelew, launching a new era under Juan Samso ahead of this year’s competitions.

The club said in a statement that the programme will include work at its training base and at Playa Unión. Preparations are focused on the Liga de Fútbol Valle del Chubut’s Apertura 2026.

Senior figures Mauricio Barriga and Facundo Perea have been joined by goalkeeper Matías Alcayaga. Promising players from the reserve and youth set-ups are also involved as they build fitness alongside the first team.

CEC are set to tackle three fronts this year, the two local Liga del Valle championships and, for the second time in their history if the club chooses, the Torneo Regional Federal Amateur. They are already qualified as runners-up in the Apertura 2025.

Last season CEC finished second in the Apertura and fourth in the Clausura. Their Regional Amateur debut was encouraging despite failing to advance from the group stage, boosted by a notable win over Jorge Newbery.
