Club Empleados de Comercio win first Valle del Chubut title, halt Madryn run | OneFootball

Club Empleados de Comercio, based in Trelew, beat J.J. Moreno in the Torneo Apertura 2026 finals to claim their first Liga de Fútbol Valle del Chubut title.

According to SuperDepor.com, the victory ends four straight championships for Madryn clubs, two by Moreno, one by Brown and one by Deportivo Madryn, and puts the mercantile side alongside Alumni, Almirante Storni, Soltex and Ferro as one-time winners.

The roll of honour, compiled by Nicolás Fisher and made official early last year, is led by Racing Club with 37 trophies, then Germinal 35, Deportivo Madryn 27, Huracán 20 and Independiente 19.

Empleados de Comercio lifted their first star in only their fifth campaign in valley competitions, having debuted in Apertura 2024.

The triumph also delivered Trelew’s first league crown since Independiente’s Apertura 2023. Moreno remain on four titles, level with Defensores de La Ribera, and missed out on becoming back-to-back champions, last achieved by Germinal in Clausura 2017 and Apertura 2018.
