The winner advances to face Toluca FC or Austin FC in the Leagues Cup semifinals, which are held Sept. 1-2.

The tournament champion will be crowned on Sept. 6. Additionally, the top three finishers qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Phase One

León joined Chicago Fire FC as one of two teams to post a perfect record during Phase One, taking all nine points with victories over Nashville SC, Orlando City and Inter Miami CF.

Colombian forward Daniel Arcila has a co-tournament-best four goals, scoring the winner against Nashville and Orlando before bagging a brace in a 3-2 comeback victory that eliminated Miami and clinched the top spot on the LIGA MX table.

Players to watch

Daniel Arcila: Alongside Austin FC forward Myrto Uzuni, the Colombian striker is tied for the tournament's Golden Boot lead with four goals.
Jhohan Romaña: The former Austin FC center back has formed a strong partnership with fellow Colombian defender Juan Guevara.
Jordi Cortizo: A dynamic dribbler and chance-creator, Cortizo is one of León's most dangerous players in the final third.

Need to know

León are arguably the surprise team of Leagues Cup, outpacing traditional powerhouses for LIGA MX's best Phase One performance.

Now, La Fiera are eyeing their first trophy since winning the 2023 Concacaf Champions Cup over LAFC. Under a different format, they also defeated Seattle Sounders FC for the Leagues Cup 2021 title.

Phase One

RSL closed Phase One with two emphatic victories, starting with a 4-0 rout of Atlante FC before securing a 3-0 win over FC Juárez.

Sergi Solans was a catalyst throughout, scoring in the aforementioned matches as Pablo Mastroeni's side grabbed MLS's last quarterfinal spot.

Players to watch

Diego Luna: The USMNT midfielder remains the centerpiece of RSL's attack and one of the league's brightest young stars.
Sergi Solans: The rookie striker has scored 11 goals in 22 games this year, including tallies in four straight matches (all competitions).
Juan Manuel Sanabria: The left wingback represented Uruguay at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and has LIGA MX experience after playing for Atlético de San Luis.

Need to know

Leagues Cup has provided a change of fortunes for RSL after a downturn in the MLS regular season.

They're also still adjusting to life after Zavier Gozo, who recently completed a club-record transfer to English Premier League side Crystal Palace.

The 19-year-old homegrown attacker and USMNT prospect departed for reportedly a $15 million fee.
