Manchester City and Bayern Munich have expressed an interest in Josh Acheampong according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The teenager has impressed when given the opportunities this season, and many supporters feel Acheampong should have featured more regularly this campaign.
Maresca admitted after the defeat to Leeds he regretted not playing Acheampong, and the defender has subsequently featured against Atalanta and Cardiff.
Acheampong is a product of Chelsea’s famed Cobham academy and was promoted to the first team squad last season.
Chelsea insisted over the summer the England under-21 international wasn’t for sale, and Borussia Dortmund were believed to have strong interest in Acheampong.

With the January window just around the corner it will be interesting to see if there’s any interest , and Jacobs has provided an update.
He took to X.com and said:
“Manchester City and Bayern express interest in Josh Acheampong.
“Chelsea’s stance remains no sale or loan. Clubs monitoring Acheampong’s minutes.”
Acheampong has made 11 appearances in all competitions so far this season, and scored his first goal for Chelsea in the 3-0 win away at Nottingham Forest earlier this season.
The academy graduate is versatile and has played at both centre back and right back this season, and you can see why he would be attracting interest from top clubs.
There’s more than one young defender who’s impressed this season, with Aaron Anselmino putting some impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund.
