In recent years, AC Milan have been consistently linked with Jonathan David, but it seems that the Canadian will not be joining the Rossoneri when his contract expires next summer.

When Paulo Fonseca was first linked to the Milan job, he joined the long list of previous interests from the Rossoneri in Lille talents. When he was appointed, it then seemed that he would look to bring one of his former players with him, but the chances of that have lessened.

This week, it was confirmed that Tiago Santos had suffered a serious injury, which would likely deflect any interest, and today news has broken that the Diavolo are withdrawing themselves from the race for another Lille star, at least slightly.

As Calciomercato.com writes, Milan ‘seem to be out of the race’ and their historic rivals Juventus and Inter are more likely destinations for the Canadian forward David. The Bianconeri have already made the first steps to signing the player, and they could ‘make a lunge’ in the next few weeks.

Barcelona have made themselves known to be an interested party, and the Blaugrana have sent messages to his entourage. This information comes after the Canadian forward has decided ‘in the last few hours’ to move on from the French club after the expiration of his current deal.
