CM: When Milan can expect each of their eight absentees to return – the dates

In typical AC Milan fashion, after a celebration of the lack of injuries in the team, the Rosoneri find themselves in the midst of an injury problem, typical.

We only have to go back a few weeks to Paulo Fonseca’s words about injuries, “We are happy because we have almost no injuries”. Now, the picture has massively changed, and Milan are having to deal with a heavily reduced squad.

Almost a full eleven can be formed with the players sidelined, and Calciomercato.com have done a roundup of each injury and when the players should return to action.

Starting with Christian Pulisic, the winger has a ‘low grade injury to the soleus muscle in the right calf’. Injuries of this nature normally heal within 20 days, so he should be back before the end of 2024, if not for the Supercoppa Italiana.

Noah Okafor also has a soleus muscle injury in his calf, but of a more serious degree (1st), but he should not be absent for much longer than the American – he should return by the end of January.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is once again suffering from a hamstring problem and there are further tests expected before tomorrow evening’s game. It is hoped that he will return by the end of 2024 as well, with the Roma game targeted.

Ismael Bennacer’s recovery is in the final stages and a return is ‘near’, according to the report. A return in the Supercoppa is probable, but there is hope he also could be present for the game against the Giallorossi.

Initially thought to be a calf strain, Kevin Zeroli is still no closer to returning. Once again, there are hopes of a return to the squad by the end of the year, but there is no reason to rush him back into action.

Luka Jovic’s recovery is going as planned but a return this year will be ‘almost impossible’ with his programme seeing him return to training on December 26. An appearance in the Supercoppa could be possible, but he may have already played his final minutes for the Rossoneri with interest present.

Alessandro Florenzi’s cruciate ligament recovery is going well and his six-month absence will hopefully finish by the middle of February.

Finally, Yunus Musah’s injury has not been specified but the ‘muscle fatigue is serious’ so there is a risk that his 2024 is already done. As is the case with many of his teammates, a return for the Supercoppa is hoped for.
