Henk Fraser will no longer be the coach of RKC Waalwijk after this season. Regardless of whether he is relegated with RKC or not, the club will have to look for a new head coach. The 58-year-old Fraser, in turn, is aiming for an adventure abroad.
Fraser was appointed as coach at RKC two years ago. The former Oranje international managed to keep RKC in the Eredivisie in his first season, but this season, things aren’t going so well with his side at the wrong end of the table.
“I consciously committed myself to RKC Waalwijk for two years in the summer of 2023 and want to take on a new challenge after this season. Until then, for me, just like for the other staff members and all players, everything is focused on our big goal: survival,” said Fraser in a statement from the club.
With five games to go, RKC are in 17th place in the Eredivisie. The gap to Willem II, one place above in the relegation play-offs, is five points.
With Fraser’s departure, another big shot is leaving RKC. It was previously announced that technical director Mo Allach will leave at the end of the season. Bernard Schuiteman was already presented as Allach’s successor as he departs for FC Groningen.
