After the restart, Anthony Patterson kept the visitors in it with smart stops, then Josh Coburn levelled from close range after a corner (58.), set up by Mihailo Ivanović.

Barry Bannan's introduction (64.) tilted the game. The substitute threaded Coburn in to drive home the late winner (86.).

Five minutes were added at the end, but the Lions saw it out.

Boro fired 32 shots and had 60.7% possession, forcing 17 corners. The Lions made 36 clearances and hit the target with five of their 11 attempts.

Next, Boro visit Swansea City. The Lions host Norwich City.
