Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer (23) is set to remain out of action until November as he continues to recover from a persistent groin injury, Sky Sports reports.

The 23-year-old has missed Chelsea’s last three matches, against Brighton, Benfica, and Liverpool, after being forced off just 21 minutes into the 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on September 20. The problem, which first emerged during the club’s curtailed pre-season following their Club World Cup campaign, has limited him to only four appearances across all competitions this term.

Palmer was not selected to travel with the England squad during the international break, and head coach Thomas Tuchel admitted concern over the issue, describing it as “a very dangerous one to become chronic,” and is determined to manage Palmer’s recovery cautiously.

Palmer is expected to miss key fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Ajax, Wolves, and Sunderland, with Chelsea hopeful of having him fit for the Premier League trip to Tottenham on November 1.
