The Chelsea playmaker missed the recent World Cup after a dip last season, but has rebounded under new Blues boss Xabi Alonso, starting with two goals and two assists in four Premier League matches.

Tuchel is expected to integrate more youngsters, with Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha, 18, and Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, 23, under consideration. Both joined a pre-World Cup senior camp, when Ngumoha debuted at 17 in a 1-0 friendly win over New Zealand in Florida.

Explaining his approach recently, Tuchel said: 'I'm excited to have new young players that we can bring into camp and they can learn'.

In defence, Inter Milan's John Stones is ruled out with a thigh injury, while club-mate Djed Spence and Dan Burn have battled fitness problems. Harry Maguire is not expected to be recalled after saying he was shocked and gutted by his World Cup omission.

In goal, Dean Henderson has an ankle injury and Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale lack regular minutes, so Tuchel may look elsewhere. Coventry City's Carl Rushworth is reportedly in line for a first senior call-up.
