Colón have paid salaries for November, a significant step as the club navigates a fragile financial situation and the arrival of new president José Alonso.
According to Radiogol.com, the normalisation followed days of tension, including industrial action by the first team over unpaid wages. Addressing salary arrears was among the most urgent tasks for the incoming leadership.
Alonso formally took office in early December 2025 after elections on 30 November, succeeding Víctor Francisco Godano, who had stepped in after José Vignatti.
In initial comments, Alonso called the outlook a little worrying. The new board encountered a heavy inheritance that includes a large debt, numerous lawsuits and account embargoes, and a ban on registering players because of liabilities such as the one owed to Alberto Espínola.
To meet immediate obligations, including overdue wages, the leadership said it would seek external funds. Payment for November is the first concrete move to steady relations with the squad and club employees.
Alonso’s priority is to bring clarity to the finances and repair the club’s position, though the road ahead looks hard and a reconstruction across departments is needed.
