Visiting supporters to St Mary’s have been allocated a new away pub after Yates closed last week. According to Daily Echo, The Papillon on Commercial Road will now host away fans.

The venue at 61 Commercial Road becomes the designated spot on matchdays.

It can host around 450 supporters and is less than five minutes’ walk from Southampton Central railway station.

St Mary’s is under a 30-minute walk away, offering a straightforward option for those arriving by train.

The Papillon sits in a Grade II-listed former church built in 1845, opposite the Mayflower Theatre.

Opened in October 2021, the restaurant has proved popular with theatre-goers and is known for a refined setting.

Tuesday’s Championship fixture with Swansea will be the first Saints matchday with The Papillon operating as the away pub.
