Nicolo Barella delivered a vintage performance in last night’s goal-glutted Serie A showdown between Como and Inter Milan.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the diminutive midfielder emerged as one of the key figures in Inter’s stunning comeback.
Cristian Chivu’s side fought back from a two-goal deficit to secure their first come-from-behind away league win of the season.
Indeed, goals from Alex Valle and Nico Paz fired Como 2-0 up ahead of the first-half injury time.
However, Marcus Thuram pulled one back for the visitors on the stroke of halftime. Furthermore, he completed the comeback early in the second half.
Barella set up Thuram for Inter’s first with a delightful cross. Moreover, the Italian star chipped the ball over the top for the Frenchman in the build-up to Inter’s equalizer.
Despite his recent struggles, the former Cagliari midfielder rediscovered his form at the best possible moment for the Nerazzurri.
As for Thuram, he spent most of the first half cut off from the rest of the team. However, he sprang to life after getting off the mark.
Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries completed the turnaround with a quick-fire second-half brace.
Unfortunately, Federico Dimarco had a rare night off, with Como exploiting his defensive shortcomings all night.
