Como hope to rely on Cesc Fàbregas to recruit Marseille’s Pau López | OneFootball

Pau López’s (29) future at Olympique de Marseille has been uncertain for a while now. The Spanish goalkeeper speaking ahead of the last game of the season against Le Havre AC appeared to hint that his time at the club could be coming to an end when he stated “Maybe, the club will want to change its squad, a new coach will make choices.”

Even though López has become a leadership figure during his two-year stay in the south of France, there was a clear indication from the club that they would be looking to rejuvenate their squad under a new manager. With Roberto De Zerbi close to being announced as the next figurehead at the club, this could potentially open the door for López to be allowed to leave.

With this in mind, Gianluca Di Marzio has reported today that Como 1907 are interested in recruiting the Marseille goalkeeper to Serie A. Their assistant manager Cesc Fàbregas is good friends with López, which could play a factor in convincing him to join the newly promoted side. However, other Spanish clubs are thought to be interested.
