Having already been rocked by Pedro Fernandez Dro’s decision to leave the club this month, Barcelona are gearing up for the exit of yet another youth prospect.
The player in question is Andres Cuenca, an 18-year-old defensive prospect who is regarded as a top talent at La Masia.
It was recently reported that Como had made an approach for Cuenca. And now it seems the Italian club are on the verge of completing the capture of the young Spaniard.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Como are closing in on a deal to sign Andres Cuenca from Barcelona this month.
The Italian outfit, managed by Cesc Fabregas, have already reached verbal agreement, with Cuenca likely to join the team on a permanent deal.
However, the youngster will be immediately loaned out so that he can receive regular game time at the highest level of football.

Barcelona, for their part, are not completely letting go of Cuenca. The Catalans are expected to retain a 20% sell-on clause on the defender’s contract.
That means the club can either re-sign Cuenca on a 20% discount in the process or be entitled to 20% of the player’s deal value to any other potential club.
The clause will expire if, in the future, the player decides to leave Como on a free transfer, with Barcelona not receiving a single penny.
Finances aside, Cuenca’s exit will be a big blow for Barcelona on a sporting level, as the teenage prodigy was considered one of La Masia‘s finest young defenders.
With Dro also leaving the club, it appears La Masia is going through a bit of a mass exodus right now.
