Como are prepared to spend a considerable fee to win the race for Manchester United winger Antony, as per reports.
Como, who are owned by the Hartono brothers, are the richest club in Serie A. Ever since their promotion to Italy’s top flight, the Lakers have raised many eyebrows with their ambitious plans.
In the summer of 2024, Como signed Raphael Varane following his departure from United. They also added Real Madrid’s Nico Paz to their ranks.
Their head coach Cesc Fabregas brilliantly led the side to 10th place in Serie A, and accordingly attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan this summer. However, Como managed to convince the Spaniard to stay at Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium.
The Italian outfit are seemingly prepared to make another eye-catching move this summer.
On Friday, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Como made an approach for Antony.
Now, Spanish outlet Fichajes claim the Serie A side are pushing to sign the Brazilian winger from United.
Such is their determination that Como are willing to “put an offer of over 40 million euros on the table.”
It is understood Como’s proposal could end up convincing United to part ways with the 25-year-old permanently.
Antony spent the second half of last season at Real Betis and enjoyed a prolific spell under Manuel Pellegrini, registering nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances.
The Brazil international prefers to return to Betis, but Los Verdiblancos have shown little desire to meet United’s demands.
They are not in a financial position to splash a significant fee on Antony and have so far insisted on agreeing another loan deal.
