Assane Diao has wasted no time proving his credentials at Como, taking Serie A by storm since joining the club in January and scoring with unprecedented consistency.

The offensive midfielder’s winner against Napoli was his fifth league goal in eight appearances, meaning the 19-year-old is averaging a goal every 134 minutes in his first experience outside of Spain, the country where he was raised.
Como coach Cesc Fabregas has started Diao in every game since his arrival, being highly rewarded with goals against Milan, Udinese, Juventus, Fiorentina and Napoli.
The youngster was identified through the Lariani’s scouting system, and the club did not hesitate to pay €12 million to Real Betis for a player who is now believed to be worth at least twice their investment.

With his current Serie A scoring average bettered only by Mateo Retegui, Moise Kean, and Ademola Lookman, Diao is likely to attract interest from several European clubs next summer. However, according to TMW, Como are determined to build their future team around the Spanish sensation.
Cesc Fabregas‘ side stunned the Partenopei to secure their second consecutive Serie A win, moving seven points clear of the relegation zone.
