A Companies House filing shows Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club (1986) Limited has confirmed the termination of Mr Yu Shi, known as Jeff Shi, effective 19 December. The move ends suggestions he might still be operating in the background, with Nathan Shi, no relation, now in post.
The filing has only recently come to light. Fosun’s stewardship remains a talking point at Molineux, mostly for the wrong reasons.
Shi joined Wolves in July 2016 during the Fosun takeover, initially as a board member, then became executive chairman in July 2017.
After a smooth start, results and sentiment deteriorated. He faced heavy criticism this season over strategy and ambition. In a BBC interview he told supporters relegation was not that serious, and a protest in the Billy Wright Stand appeared to be the final straw.
Nathan Shi has no prior experience in football but has spoken well in limited interviews at Molineux. He aims to rebuild trust through actions.
He joined Fosun in 2016, previously serving as administrative assistant to chairman Guo Guangchang. He has worked across core business segments with experience in project execution, operational management and resource integration.
