Competition for places intensifies at Real Sociedad | OneFootball

Pellegrino Matarazzo now has almost his entire squad available at Real Sociedad. Only Álvaro Odriozola is still recovering, leaving the full-back as the club’s sole absentee.

Real have 24 first-team players, while Álex Marchal is also training with the senior group. According to AS, with 23 places allowed on a matchday list, the coach must omit two players each game, and one is usually the third goalkeeper.

The injury picture has cleared after pre-season issues for Jon Pacheco, Gonçalo Guedes, Jon Gorrotxategi and Pablo Marín. Gorrotxategi and Marín were the last to rejoin full training, although Marín is yet to make a squad list.

Matarazzo has already used 22 players. Arsen Zakharyan has only three minutes so far, while Pacheco, Unai Marrero and summer arrivals Mamadou Sarr and Héctor Fort debuted against Elche.

The most used to date are Sergio Gómez on 432 minutes, Aramburu on 417, Jon Martín on 366 and Remiro on 360.

With four competitions on the calendar, minutes will be shared around the squad. Aside from the injured Odriozola and Marín who awaits his first call-up, everyone else has already featured.
