MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf U-17 Women’s Qualifiers will kick off on January 27, adding a new chapter to the competition's history.

Eight editions of the Concacaf U-17 Women’s Qualifiers have been played, with the United States being the most successful. The Stars and Stripes have won six titles, lifting the trophy at the end of the 2008, 2012, 2016, 2018, 2022, and 2024 tournaments.

Canada and Mexico each have one conquest and are the only other nations to win previously. The Reds won the 2010 edition and have finished runners-up twice. Mexico won in 2013 and finished second on five occasions.

The U-17 category has rivalries and match-ups, allowing this tournament to develop into a talent showcase from across the region. The United States and Mexico have met on the pitch in the previous four finals, with the USYNT winning each time.

Canada and Mexico have a history of their own, having faced each other twice in the championship match, each winning their only title. Costa Rica and the United States is the only other meeting in the final, won by the U.S. in the inaugural edition. Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, and Puerto Rico are other nations that have finished among the top four.

The award winners at the end of the tournament have been a preview of players who went on to be impactful with their senior teams.

Jessie Fleming, the Golden Ball winner of the 2013 edition, became the Canada women’s national team Captain.

Melchie Dumornay of Haiti, the Golden Ball and Golden Boot recipient in 2018, is currently showing her skills as one of the best players in the world and recently won the 2023/24 Concacaf Women's Player of The Year.

The initial whistle on January 27 will kick off the ninth edition of the Concacaf U-17 Women’s Qualifiers, with Round One played from January 27 to February 1.

Eight teams advancing from Round One will join the four top-ranked teams – the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Haiti – in the Final Round, from March 31 to April 6, to determine the four Concacaf participants at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
