Juventus are sweating over the fitness of Francisco Conceição ahead of their Serie A meeting with Lazio.

The winger returned from the Coppa Italia trip to Atalanta carrying a muscle problem similar to Kenan Yildiz’s recent adductor overload. Gazzetta suggests that the issue is in his right leg.

He has been assessed by the club’s medical staff and took part in a recovery session alongside the other players involved in the cup tie.

His condition will be checked on the eve of the game to decide whether he can be named in the squad. There is a real risk he could miss out, a match with personal significance as he would be facing a club closely associated with his father’s career.

Earlier in the week Yildiz recovered after just one day of rest, aided by extra time between fixtures. This time the turnaround is tighter, and Conceição’s explosive, pace-based style makes the situation more delicate.
