Burkina Faso fans will be crossing everything in the hope that their number one Hervé Koffi will be good to go in a few weeks. The Charleroi goalkeeper had to come off injured after pulling off a remarkable save during the sides 3-1 win over KV Mechelen. With the score at 2-1, Koffi was at his acrobatic best to tip a goal bound effort over the bar. However, during the landing he suffered an injury and had to later be replaced.
No news has been forthcoming as of yet, but hopes are that it was just an awkward landing and he asked to come off as a precaution ahead of the upcoming tournament. While by no means the favourites, Burkina Faso will be hoping to match their performance from Cameroon last time out. The Stallions made the semi-finals and Koffi had an excellent tournament in the process.
The side have never won the AFCON before, with their best finish being the final in 2013 where they lost to Nigeria. They will face Mauritania, Angola and Algeria in their group starting on the 16th of January.
