Djibril Sidibé suffered a head-to-head collision late in Toulouse’s 0-3 defeat to Lens, though his head coach later offered reassurance.

The incident came on Lens’s third and final goal in the fifth minute of added time as the 2018 World Cup winner challenged Ismaëlo Ganiou. After the match, head coach Carles Martinez Novell said he had spoken to Sidibé.

The defender stayed down for several minutes before leaving the pitch on a stretcher, fitted with a neck brace and covered by a thermal blanket, to applause from the Stadium crowd.

He was feeling better and behaving normally, and the club will follow the league’s concussion protocol.

Sidibé, 33, has 18 France caps and one international goal.
