Confirmed: Barcelona quartet nominated for La Liga awards for September | OneFootball

The 2026/27 season has been off to a brilliant start for FC Barcelona as they have looked unstoppable.

The Blaugrana, managed by Hansi Flick, have won each of their eight games in all competitions, including seven in La Liga, while scoring a total of 36 goals in the process.

Currently sitting at the top of the La Liga standings, the reigning champions have already opened up a five-point lead over second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Given their excellent performances, Barcelona find themselves heavily represented in the La Liga monthly award nominations for September.

Raphinha leading the way

Kicking off, Barça captain Raphinha finds himself nominated for the La Liga Player of the Month for September.

The 29-year-old forward is currently the leading scorer in La Liga with 12 goals, with his performances in September being at a whole other level.

Indeed, Raphinha started the month with a goal against Valencia, followed by two assists against Levante. The Brazilian international then bagged back-to-back hat-tricks against Racing Santander and Sevilla, taking his tally to seven goals for the month.

As such, he is a frontrunner to win the La Liga Player of the Month for September, although he will compete with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, Elche’s Fer Nino, Sergio Camello of Rayo Vallecano, and Jonathan David of Atletico Madrid.

Flick, Cubarsi also in the running

Meanwhile, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick finds himself nominated for the La Liga Coach of the Month prize for September.

The German tactician has continued his excellent run at the club into the new season, leading the Catalans to four wins, in which they scored 19 goals and conceded five.

Flick finds himself competing with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and Real Betis head coach Manuel Pellegrini for the honour.

Furthermore, Barcelona young defender Pau Cubarsi is nominated for the La Liga U23 Player of the Month award for September.

The 19-year-old wonderkid, who is the frontrunner for the 2026 Golden Boy award, started three of Barça’s four league games this month, helping the team to one clean sheet.

Cubarsi will come up against Yassir Zabiri of Racing Santander, Yoel Lago of Celta Vigo, Alberto Moleiro of Villarreal and Miguel Sierra of Sevilla for the prize.

Finally, Barcelona summer signing Joao Cancelo has been nominated for the La Liga Goal of the Month for September.

The Portuguese full-back scored two blinders in the team’s victory over Racing Santander earlier in the month, and the first of his two strikes has been nominated for the prize.

Also competing for the prize are Ante Budimir of Osasuna and Lucas Boye of Alaves.
