Confirmed: Barcelona sign 18-year-old attacking prodigy on a five-year contract until 2031 | OneFootball

FC Barcelona have officially announced the signing of teenage winger Jesse Bisiwu from Belgian outfit Club Brugge.

The 18-year-old speedster has signed a five-year contract with the Blaugrana running until the summer of 2031.

“FC Barcelona and Club Brugge KV have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jesse Bisiwu, who signs up to be a Blaugrana until 30 June 2031,” the club statement read.

“The player will be presented officially at the Club offices in the near future.” 

A bright future ahead

Bisiwu is widely regarded as one of the most talented young prospects coming through in the Belgian football scenes.

The 18-year-old had been a target for the Catalan giants for a while now, with sporting director Deco and head of scouting Joao Amaral working hard on a deal for months now.

After significant efforts, the La Liga champions agreed a deal worth €8.5 million for the teenager, with Club Brugge retaining a 20% future sell-on clause on their academy prospect.

The fact that Bisiwu has been announced as a first-team signing rather than a reserve-team or an academy acquisition indicates that Barcelona plan to fast-track him into the senior squad.

As things stand, the youngster is expected to fly to England imminently to join Hansi Flick and the rest of the squad currently on their pre-season camp.

If everything goes according to plan, Bisiwu could make his unofficial first-team debut for Barcelona on August 8, during the triangular tournament in Italy involving Udinese and Nottingham Forest.
