After back-to-back defeats against Atletico Madrid and Girona, FC Barcelona need to produce a strong reaction and return to winning ways at the earliest.

Up next for Hansi Flick & co. is a challenge against Levante at the Spotify Camp Nou, and there is good news with regard to the return of a key player.

Pedri will return, play in the second half

Over the past few days, multiple sources have reported that Barcelona will recover Pedri in time for the game against Levante on Sunday.

Corroborating the claims, Javi Miguel of AS reports that Pedri is, indeed, set to return imminently.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been sidelined for a month after suffering a biceps femoris injury in his right leg on 21 January against Slavia Prague in the Champions League.

But he has recovered from the injury and has begun working on the pitch, with the aim of returning on Sunday.

For the match against Levante, the plan is for Pedri to come on in the second half and play around 15 minutes. A week later, against Villarreal, he could start and remain on the pitch for approximately 60 minutes.

The objective is for the midfield maestro to be ready to complete 90 minutes in the Copa del Rey semifinal second leg against Atletico Madrid in pursuit of a comeback from the 4-0 deficit in the first leg.

Pedri’s imminent return will be a major boost for Barcelona as it will allow Flick to reorganise his team and restore tactical clarity. With the midfielder in the team, the structure, and as a result, the performance improves.
