Just a couple of weeks into the 2026/27 La Liga season, FC Barcelona have started on a strong note, winning three in three matches.

The Blaugrana have been scoring goals for fun and have also kept two clean sheets in three of their matches.

As such, they are currently occupying the top of the league table, ahead of bitter rivals Real Madrid, who are second, behind on goal difference.

As a consequence of their blistering start to the new season, as many as three members of the Barcelona dressing room have been nominated for the La Liga monthly awards for August.

Flick and Raphinha nominated

Indeed, manager Hansi Flick is in the running for the Coach of the Month honour, after having led the team to three impressive victories in the new season.

However, the German tactician will be against new Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, who also three wins so far, as well as Alaves head coach Quique Sanchez Flores, with his team currently fourth after two wins and one draw so far.

Meanwhile, superstar forward Raphinha is in the running for the La Liga Player of the Month for August after making a red-hot start to the campaign.

The Brazilian international, appointed the first captain this season and deployed in a central role, has already scored five goals in three games, including two braces.

So, his nomination for the August Player of the Month award is least bit surprising. However, Raphinha will face competition from Jude Bellingham, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alex Baena, and Nahuel Tanaglia.

Xavi Espartโ€™s rise continues

Lastly, teenage prodigy Xavi Espart is in contention to win the La Liga U23 Player of the Month award for August.

The 19-year-old La Masia product has excelled this season playing in an unfamiliar role at left-back, and is the only outfield player to have started all three matches for Barcelona so far.

Fairly reliable in defence, providing good support going forward, Espart has won over Flick, and could bag his first La Liga award.

He will have to stave off competition from Arda Guler, Miguel Sierra, Yassir Zabiri, and Javi Martinez.
