It’s been confirmed that Chelsea staff member Jack Mesure has left the club to join Blues legend Ashley Cole.

Cole is taking on a managerial job, and Mesure is joining him as his assistant manager after leaving his role as Player Loan Manager at Stamford Bridge.

Mesure becomes the latest in a long list of Chelsea staff members leaving the club after a long period there. But it looks like a case of him wanting to go help his good friend at another club and perhaps start his own coaching career.

Cole will be looking at this as a perfect opportunity to kick on with his managerial career and step up the ladder, perhaps following in the footsteps of someone like Cesc Fabregas, who of course also played for Chelsea and is now enjoying a very successful time as Como manager.

As reported by the reliable Training Ground Guru, Ashley Cole has taken on his first senior managerial role after being named Head Coach of Italian Serie B side Cesena to the end of the season, with Jack Mesure leaving Chelsea to become his Assistant.

It will be a good move for both coaches as they look to get some solid experience in order to develop some more.

In other news…

Liam Rosenior has summed up Chelsea’s issues after yet another defeat on the pitch at the weekend by saying they could be contained in two main “aspects.”

In a situation that has caused a lot of drama and debate, the manager also got side-tracked talking about the ridiculous pre-match huddle situation.
