Real Madrid have just registered their latest summer signing, Yan Diomande, with La Liga as a first-team player.

The 19-year-old winger joined the club from RB Leipzig, in a massive deal worth €140 million, including add-ons, making him the most expensive signing in the Merengues’ history.

Now, the Ivory Coast international has been registered as a first-team player with La Liga.

Diomande registered directly with the first team

In doing so, Real Madrid have chosen not to register Diomande as a Castilla player in Primera Federacion, despite being entitled to do so because he is only 19 years old.

He is below the federation’s age limit of 23, which allows players to be registered with a reserve team under the relevant regulations.

Unlike what the club did a year ago with Franco Mastantuono, Real Madrid decided not to use the rule that would have allowed Diomande to be registered with Castilla.

All 25 First-Team places are now filled

With Diomande’s registration, Real Madrid have now registered all of their summer signings: Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Carlos Espi and the aforementioned Yan Diomande.

This also means that Real Madrid currently have all 25 first-team places filled, in addition to Thiago Pitarch, who is registered with the reserve team.

So if Real Madrid want to sign another player, they will necessarily have to make room by letting one of the players currently in the squad leave.
