According to Coluna Do Fla, Conmebol has set the Libertadores last-16 draw for Friday 29 at 12:00 Brasília time. Flamengo sealed their spot on Wednesday 20 with a 1-0 win over Estudiantes (ARG).
Already assured as Group A winners, Flamengo can be paired with any second-placed team from the group stage.
Eight other clubs are through to the knockouts: Corinthians and Mirassol, plus Coquimbo Unido (CHI), Independiente Rivadavia (ARG), Rosario Central (ARG), Cerro Porteño (PAR), LDU (EQU) and Independiente Del Valle (EQU).
Flamengo lead Group A on 13 points. On Thursday 21 they were awarded a W.O. victory over Independiente Medellín (COL) after the match was cancelled amid protests by the Colombian side. Independiente Medellín have seven points, Estudiantes six and Cusco (PER) one.
Flamengo want to finish the phase with the best overall record, which brings home advantage in the knockouts, the final excluded. They currently top the campaign, level on points and goal difference with Rosario Central but ahead on goals scored.
Focus now shifts to the Brasileirão, with Leonardo Jardim’s team hosting Palmeiras at 21:00 Brasília time on Saturday 23 at the Maracanã in round 17.
