Conor Gallagher certainly played his part as we came from 2-0 down to secure a point against Manchester City on Sunday - and he praised the fans for playing their part, as well.

After a tough first half, trailing 2-0 at the break, Conor helped drive us forward in the second half as Dominic Solanke's goal back on 53 minutes signalled a momentum shift in the game.

The midfielder was then key to one of the most magical moments in the stadium so far - he made the ball his bursting between Nico Gonzalez and Nico O'Reilly on the right before delivering the cross for Dominic's scorpion kick to level the scores.

Gianluigi Donnarumma was forced to make saves from Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons, and the same pair almost combined to find a third, Wilson couldn't quite get to Xavi's low cross in front of goal.

Speaking to us afterwards, Conor reflected: "It was a brilliant second half. I thought we showed great character and personality to come back from 2-0. I think all the credit goes to the boys and we really put in the work. I'm just really happy it came out in a good result in the end.

"I understand the crowd's frustration at times. All we want to do is win games and do what we can to win the game. As soon as we do something good at the start of the second half and the crowd's there with us, it makes all the difference. That's a big reason why we were able to come back from two goals today. I thought the crowd were brilliant in the second half."

In terms of tactics, Conor said the team went 'back to basics' in the second half with the tightrope of needing to get back into the game with the threat of City's dangermen up front adding a third...

He added: "We kind of went back to basics a little bit in the second half, went to a 4-4-2 defensive shape and just made sure we were really organised and made sure they didn't break us down.

"When we pressed, we went together as a team and I thought we won the ball back a lot more in the second half and were able to create a lot more chances, which was the reason why we got a couple of goals."
