The impeachment process against Corinthians president Osmar Stabile has advanced internally, with the Comissão de Ética admitting the petition and giving him 10 days to submit his defence, according to Meu Timao.

Acting Conselho Deliberativo president Leonardo Pantaleão said the defence will return to the Comissão de Ética, which will prepare an opinion before sending the case to the Conselho Deliberativo.

If approved there, it will be forwarded to the Assembleia Geral of members for a final decision. Stabile’s mandate runs until December 2026.

The request, filed in April by a group of associates and councillors, alleges irregularities under the club’s Statute and the Lei Geral do Esporte. It cites a lack of transparency and the use of Parque São Jorge as collateral in negotiations over a R$ 1.2 billion debt with the PGFN.

The move comes amid a turbulent backdrop at Parque São Jorge. On Monday, Augusto Melo was expelled from the membership in a CD vote for a grave statutory breach linked to 31 May 2025, when councillors invaded the social headquarters and tried to annul a vote on his impeachment.

On 25 May, Andrés Sanchez was also expelled by the CD for irregular use of the club’s corporate card between 2018 and 2021, with spending put at about R$ 480,000. On Thursday, 28 May, Duílio Monteiro Alves renounced his status as sócio remido, giving up his lifetime council seat and his place on the Cori, and he is under investigation by MP-SP for alleged irregular corporate card use.
