FC Bayern Munich wants to extend striker Harry Kane’s contract as soon as possible. Talks are expected to take place immediately after the World Cup. Now, it appears that a top club has inquired about the English player.
According to a report in England’s Daily Mail, FC Barcelona has contacted Harry Kane’s agents. The report states that the possibility of signing him is being explored.
The interest has now been conveyed to the player’s side, and the Catalans plan to reach out again after the World Cup.
However, Kane is very happy at Bayern Munich, and it is unlikely that the record champions would even consider letting their star striker leave.
According to the report, the player’s representatives have no interest in maintaining contact with the Catalans. A phone call is said to have taken place, but after that, there was immediate radio silence.

Kane and his entourage are currently focused on the World Cup; after that, they plan to push for a new contract with FC Bayern. This is supported by the fact that the striker feels extremely at home with the record champions. His family also enjoys life in Munich. On the field, success is also on the table.
However, there are still a few hurdles to overcome before a new contract is ready to be signed. The Englishman is aware that this contract will likely be his last major one and wants to be compensated accordingly.
In addition to a substantial salary, the contract term is also an issue. Recent reports suggest that this, in particular, remains a sticking point. Kane’s camp is demanding a long-term contract—likely spanning four years—while Bayern would prefer to offer a shorter term plus an option for an additional year.
In the end, however, that shouldn’t be the deciding factor. Both sides are confident that a deal can be reached fairly quickly after the World Cup.
