Liverpool may keep Darwin Nunez after all. The Uruguayan's contract revelation changes things.
Liverpool went into this summer wanting to sell Darwin Nunez. Though, only for the right price.
But it's become clear that Nunez isn't the answer up top at Anfield. At least, he's not the answer under Arne Slot, who rarely used the forward last season.
Nunez suited things a lot more under Jurgen Klopp but the Dutchman preferred other options. With the lack of playing time, particularly over the second half of the campaign, a sale made sense.
And Napoli appeared to be the destination. Reports claim Nunez rejected a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, with Antonio Conte's side the favourites to snap him up.
There have been problems with the fee, naturally, but it looked like the place he wanted to be. Only, that may not be the case.
Corriere Dello Sport claims Nunez actually hasn't agreed on terms with Napoli. It's been reported in several Italian outlets that he had done, with just agreement with Liverpool standing in the way of the deal.
It seems that's not the case, however. Nunez hasn't agreed on terms and the report suggests it's proving a little difficult.
This comes after rejecting Saudi Arabia and Al-Hilal, too. So does Nunez actually want to leave?
