Manchester City midfielder Maximo Perrone has completed a season-long loan move to Como.

The 2003-born midfielder has completed a second successive temporary exit from the Etihad Stadium, signing for Serie A side Como on a season-long loan for the 2024/25 campaign, having spent the last season in La Liga with UD Las Palmas.

Perrone made 30 appearances across two competitions in Gran Canaria during the 2023/24 season, and has also featured for Pep Guardiola’s side on two occasions since arriving for £8 million in January 2023 from Velez Sarsfield.

The 21-year-old made his debut against Bournemouth in the Premier League and also featured against Bristol City in the Emirates FA Cup, as well as being an unused substitute on 11 further occasions during the treble-winning campaign.

The Argentina Under-20 international signed a five-and-a-half year deal with Manchester City, but will spend the 2024/25 season in the Italian top-flight, playing under Cesc Fabregas for Serie A side Como.

Perrone has completed a straight season-long move to Como for the 2024/25 campaign. The transfer does not include an option to make the deal permanent, according to Fabrizio Romano.

What have Manchester City said about the transfer?

A Manchester City statement, said: “Maximo Perrone has joined Serie A side Como on loan for the 2024/25 season. The Argentinian midfielder, who moved to the Etihad Stadium from Velez Sarsfield, will spend the campaign with the newly-promoted Italian side under their boss Cesc Fabregas.

“Everyone at the Club wishes Maximo well in his loan with Como.”

What has Maximo Perrone said about the transfer?

Upon completing a move to the newly-promoted club, Perrone said: “I’m very happy to be here in this club and this city, I’m really looking forward to start playing. I think it’s a step that I need in my career to keep growing, the idea of the coach suits me, and I like the style of play. It’s also a very interesting club, with a quality squad and that’s why I decided to come here.”

How have Como reacted to the deal?

A Como statement, said: “Como 1907 is delighted to announce that Maximo Perrone will join the club on loan from Manchester City. The creative midfielder joins the club after an excellent pre-season on a one year loan deal with option to extend.

Cesc Fàbregas, head coach of Como 1907 said: “It’s exciting to have such a versatile player as Perrone join us. His recent pre-season performance demonstrated his link up play and creativity in the midfield.”
