CAF already seems ready to move on from AFCON 2025, despite the ongoing controversies surrounding the final. Congolese referee Jean-Jacques Ndala, who faced heavy criticism after the Senegal–Morocco (1-0 aet) showdown, is reportedly set to be appointed for another high-stakes clash on the continental stage.
According to the latest updates from journalist Micky Jnr, Ndala is tipped to officiate the decisive CAF Champions League group stage encounter between Young Africans (Yanga SC) and JS Kabylie, scheduled for February 15 at the New Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar. This match will be pivotal in the race for qualification.
Notably, CAF is also considering assigning him the same refereeing team that was on duty during the AFCON 2025 final. This appointment is as symbolic as it is risky, and could reignite a controversy that is far from settled.
