The Copa del Rey final is likely to be moved to Sunday 19 April in Seville, with the RFEF favouring a date change over a switch of venue after problems with the original Saturday 25 April slot.
El Periódico Mediterráneo reports that RFEF's Rafael Louzán said a change is coming, with a strong chance the previous weekend will be confirmed, speaking in Castellón where Real Madrid and Barça contested the women's Supercopa final.
He did not specify Saturday or Sunday, but Sunday is likelier because the Europa League quarter-final second legs are on Thursday 16 and Betis could need La Cartuja, as the club are playing there while Benito Villamarín is being redeveloped. A Saturday final would leave too little time to ready the stadium.
Moving the final would also force LaLiga to shift one or two matchdays. Matchday 32 is currently set for that weekend, with matchday 33 three days later. The report said the federation and LaLiga have already discussed the squeeze and are aligned.
Local constraints around the Seville Feria and the Jerez MotoGP, around 90 kilometres away, discouraged 25 April due to hotel availability and policing demands.
